About Us

Our Principles

BATACAN MONTEJO & VICENCIO LAW FIRM is dedicated to excellence in the practice of law. The Firm runs a fully integrated legal and corporate service firm, with an eye towards regional leadership south of the Philippines. The Firm believes that the success of legal remedies is gauged by their responsiveness to the client’s express and implied expectations and needs.

Who We Are

In January 1999, when the Ateneo de Davao Legal Services Office decided to re-align its organizational structure, its former members Atty. Batacan and Atty. Montejo established the Batacan & Montejo Law Firm.

While waiting for the results of the bar exams, Atty. Vicencio joined the firm as a legal researcher until becoming a full associate after passing the said exam in 1999. All of the associates joined after passing their respective bar examinations.

By reason of the admission of Atty. Vicencio as new partner and of some changes in the firm’s composition after five (5) years of existence, the BATACAN MONTEJO & VICENCIO LAW FIRM was formed in 2004. The new partnership was previously located at the 7th Floor Landco Corporate Centre, J.P. Laurel Ave., Davao City.

Why Choose Us

Considering the type of law practice generally followed in Davao City, specialization in a particular filed is not too common among law practitioners. While the same may be said of the law firm, environmental law and political law were areas of practice the firm took special interest in, mainly attributable to Atty. Batacan and Atty. Montejo. As a matter of fact, Atty. Batacan played a key role in the legal controversy involving the construction of the Artica Sports Dome in Davao City before the Supreme Court where it upheld the position of the city against the DENR.

Having once been connected with the Ateneo Legal Services Office (a legal aid program of the Ateneo de Davao University), the original members of the firm have been exposed to all types of cases involving indigent clients.

At present, the law firm handles and litigates civil, criminal, administrative, election and corporate cases.
